I really like that this felt like a music video/concept piece. Which is really the power of video work. Halfway through I went, oh, is that Galen Hooks in there?!? For those who don’t know (which is most everyone), I’m a really big fan of Galen Hooks and her work, so it’s always great to see her in a video.

I really miss LXD.

I’m realizing that I’m a really big fan of movements that flow, and what I really love in this is the reliance more on the background instrumentation of the song than of the lyrical rhythm. I want to find this version of Valerie and download it. The focus and facial expressions in this seems to be very important in creating the mood of this piece. I think since I am on break, I’m gravitating towards pieces that feel carefree

I think most of the YouTube videos that I see with dance class performances are based in California or Atlanta. Which makes me want to add LA and ATL to my tentative Amtrak road trip.
